Since 1969 Children’s HeartLink has been dedicated to caring for children with heart disease. On an annual basis over 122,000 children are served at partner hospitals around the world, and that number is growing every year. Children’s Heartlink works to train medical practitioners, doctors, and nurses in Bangladesh, Brazil, China, India, Malaysia and Vietnam - countries that are home to almost 40 percent of the world’s population.are now more equipped to care for children with heart disease. Association of Black Cardiologists
Founded in 1974, the Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc., (ABC) is a nonprofit organization with an international membership of over 2,000 health professionals, lay members of the community (Community Health Advocates), corporate members, and institutional members. The ABC is dedicated to eliminating the disparities related to cardiovascular disease in all people of color. Today, the ABC’s public and private partnerships continue to increase our impact in communities across the nation.
WomenHeart
WomenHeart’s growth is a credit to the work of its committed Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Council, volunteers, staff and corporate partners who spend countless hours advancing awareness of women’s heart health. Now, in its 25th year, WomenHeart has successfully:
Developed the only national network of patient support groups across the country – nearly 100 in more than 30 states.
Trained more than 900 women heart disease survivors as community educators via the WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium in collaboration with Mayo Clinic.
Hosted bi-annual Advocacy Institute conferences to train women living with heart disease to be public policy advocates and form the basis of a grassroots policy movement.
Created the Red Bag of Courage® program placing educational information about women and heart disease directly into the hands of hundreds of thousands of women living with or at-risk for heart disease.
Held the first National Policy & Science Summit for women’s cardiovascular health.
HeartBrothers House
Founded in 2014, the HeartBrothers Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation dedicated to helping heart failure patients and their families navigate the complicated financial world of Heart Failure (HF), Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs), and Heart Transplantation. Their sole mission to bring resources together to help heart failure patients and their loved ones survive a life with heart failure and all its challenges through the following programs:
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - Provide gap assistance and tools for patients and families to help them survive long-term hospitalization.
TEAM HEARTBROTHERS - Their volunteer team of Patient-Ambassadors provides face-to-face interaction with patients and families, as well as assists with our fundraising efforts and raising organ donation awareness.
HEARTBROTHERS HOUSE - Their two downtown Boston apartments provide a short-term housing option for heart failure patients.
PATIENT SUPPORT GROUP - A monthly *virtual* patient-focused meeting that we host with a rotating group of partner Transplant and Heart Failure Centers.
ORGAN DONATION & HEART FAILURE AWARENESS - Assisting organ donation organizations in spreading awareness of their services (through Team HeartBrothers).
PATIENT EDUCATION - Educate on various aspects of Heart Failure and the challenges associated with the disease.
